Find These Socially Responsible Companies on Amazon
Are you ever torn between supporting socially responsible companies that give back and finding a good deal on Amazon? Let’s face it. Amazon is wildly popular. During Amazon’s recent Prime Day event, customers purchased over 40,000,000 products, totaling over $600,000,000! That’s a lot of zeros!
Well, I’m here with some good news for you. It is possible to support companies that give back AND shop on Amazon at the same time! I’ve scoured Amazon and came up with this list of socially responsible companies that are selling on Amazon.
DOG for DOG
As an animal lover, DOG for DOG is one of my favorite companies that give back. They offer all-natural dog food and dog treats that provide health and happiness to your dog and many more. DOG for DOG believes that every dog deserves to be fed nutritious and great tasting food. For every item they sell, they donate an item to help a dog in need. Their products are designed to create healthier skin and shinier coats and contain natural ingredients such as peanut butter, oats, and organic flaxseeds – which is something every dog deserves! You can find DOG for DOG on Amazon.
Faucet Face
With 96 reviews for their Hose Water Reusable Glass Water Bottle, it’s safe to say people are taking notice of Faucet Face on Amazon. Faucet Face is an environmentally friendly company that provides stylish and eco-friendly glass water bottles to promote tap water and face the fight against bottled water waste – protecting both the planet and people. Through its 1 for 100 program, Faucet Face donates 2.5% of ALL sales of their classic water bottles, PLUS, a complete filter for each sale of 5 or more individual bottles to the clean drinking water charity Third Millennium Awakening (TMA). By doing so, they help ensure that a family in India has access to clean, safe drinking water. Find Faucet Face on Amazon.
Cotopaxi
Cotopaxi’s selection of responsibly-sourced and technologically advanced outdoor gear and adventure apparel includes everything from bags, backpacks, lifestyle packs, insulated jackets, and water bottles. Their popular lightweight nylon hiking packable daypack has been referred to as an “extremely comfortable and versatile backpack” and the “perfect lightweight pack for day hikes and bike rides” by Amazon reviewers.
They are committed to funding sustainable poverty relief and are driven to inspire people to do good, create positive social impact, and encourage innovation. Cotopaxi designates 2% of their revenue to help alleviate poverty. They are focused on creating positive social impact and give targeted grants to advance health, education, and livelihood initiatives worldwide. Learn more about Cotopaxi on Amazon.
Kammok
Speaking of items great for outdoor enthusiasts… Kammok offers revolutionary elevated camping gear such as light-weight hammocks, accessories, tents, and sleeping bags. Their most popular item on Amazon, the Kammok Roo Double Camping Hammock, has Amazon reviewers declaring it “one of the most comfortable hammocks I’ve ever rested in” and in “a league of its own.”
As an adventure brand and one of our socially responsible companies, it is naturally fitting that Kammok donates 1% of their revenue each year to nonprofit partner Explore Austin. Explore Austin empowers underserved youth in the Austin area through leadership training, mentorship, and outdoor adventure. Learn more about Kammok on Amazon.
Good Spread
With a name like Good Spread, it had better be good… both in taste and mission. And it is! Good Spread offers a peanut butter made with simple, delicious, and natural ingredients that reviewers are calling their “favorite snack” and “the best peanut butter I’ve ever had.” Flavors currently include honey peanut butter, organic chocolate pretzel peanut butter, organic honey banana peanut spread, and organic unsweetened peanut butter with probiotics.
As I mentioned, their mission is just as good as their peanut butter. For every jar you buy, Good Spread provides fortified peanut butter to a child suffering from malnutrition by partnering with Mana Nutrition. Learn more about Good Spread on Amazon.
Sock Panda
Sock Panda’s socks are decked out with fun, colorful designs for men, women, and children. These are one of my go-to gifts because they always bring a smile to the recipient’s face. My current favorite is their Children’s Animal Socks. Sock Panda is dedicated to using its socks to make the world a better place. For every new sock subscription and renewal, they donate socks to those in need. Sock Panda offers a monthly subscription service on their website but their socks are also available individually (or as a three-pack) on Amazon, making this a very versatile and socially responsible companies worth checking out. See more of Sock Panda on Amazon.
Out of Print
Out of Print is another great company to check out for gifts. Their collection of socks, totes, clothing, baby onesies, phone covers, and accessories represent a literary theme. If you’re looking for a gift for book lovers and avid readers, I suggest their Library Card socks, Pride and Prejudice tote, and the Composition Notebook pouch.
With a commitment to promoting literacy, for each product sold, one book is donated to communities in need. More than one million books have been donated to date, making Out of Print a value based business that is making a real impact. Check out Out of Print on Amazon.
ThunderShirt
Those of you who read this blog know that I have a soft spot for companies that give back to animal-related charities. But their support of rescue centers and adoption agencies isn’t the only reason why I’m a big fan of ThunderShirt. The ThunderShirt has found success helping dogs (and their families) face the most common problems, including anxiety, barking, car travel, leash pulling, air travel, restaurant etiquette, vet visits, crate anxiety, delivery truck noise, grooming, over-excitement, and house guests. Anything that can help a dog is worthwhile in my opinion!
And with over 5,000 reviews on Amazon, I’m likely not the only fan of ThunderShirt. Reviewers have called it a “must have for nervous dogs” and the “dog’s best friend during storms or fireworks.” Read more about Thundershirt on Amazon.
One thing to note, ThunderShirt’s products are available through many third party sellers on Amazon. To make sure your purchase helps support dogs in rescue centers and agencies, be sure to buy directly from ThunderShirt. This is true for all of these socially responsible companies.
LSTN Sound
I just recently discovered LSTN Sound. LSTN was actually started to help fund the Starkey Hearing Foundation. With their “buy one – give one” model, LSTN has helped more than 22,000 people in nine countries hear for the first time. They offer a selection of quality speakers, earbuds, and headphones featuring custom-designed drivers and high-quality sustainable materials. Currently, their most popular items on Amazon include the Satellite Cherry Wood Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Built-in Microphone and the Bamboo Wood Noise Isolating Earbuds with In-line Microphone. Stay tuned to learn more about LSTN Sound on Purpose Over Profit. In the meantime, check out LSTN Sound on Amazon.
LifeStraw
Last, but not certainly not least, on this list of 10 Socially-Responsible Companies on Amazon, is the LifeStraw. With a whopping 6,311 reviews averaging 4.7 stars (to date) on Amazon, I almost feel like there’s nothing I can say about it that hasn’t already been said. If the reviews alone don’t convince you that this is a must-have for any outdoor excursion, read about their Buy One, Give One campaign. For every LifeStraw® water filter sold, a child in Africa receives clean drinking water for an entire school year, thanks to the donation efforts of the North American distributor, Eartheasy. When you purchase any type of LifeStraw® filter, Eartheasy uses part of the funds to donate LifeStraw® Community institutional water purifiers to schools in Africa. Learn more about LifeStraw on Amazon.
Those are ten of the socially responsible companies that I found on Amazon. Check back often as I’ll update the list. For another fun and easy way to shop for gifts that give back, check out our sister site Do Good Gift Guides.
Do you know of any socially responsible companies that aren’t on this list? If so, let us know in the comments section below!
Knowing these businesses are doing their part to make this world a little bit better means I can feel good buying from them. Thank you Purpose Over Profit!
