Creating Social Change
Socially-conscious companies are changing the world. They’re feeding the hungry, empowering women, educating children, nurturing the planet, and caring for the homeless. Here are how even the smallest actions are creating big changes:
Hendrick & Co. – Hendrick & Co. has given more than $1 million to save animals, especially those who have fallen victim to severe abuse, neglect, torture, and abandonment.
LUSH – Since its launch, Charity Pot has donated more than $18,000,000 to 1400+ grassroots charities in 42 countries. LUSH is a leader of socially-conscious companies.
Pura Vida – Through their Charity Collection, Pura Vida has partnered with over 190 different charities and has donated more than $935,358 to date.
Alex and Ani – To date, Alex and Ani has donated more than $46 million to non-profits worldwide.
Bambeco – Since Bambeco launched their “Every Purchase Plants a Tree” initiative, they’ve planted over 30,000 trees—enough trees to supply oxygen for 40,000 people, save and clean 2.4 billion gallons of water, and absorb 480 tons of carbon dioxide per year!
WeWOOD – Throughout their partnerships with nonprofit organizations, WeWOOD has supported the planting of over 400,000 trees since 2010. Their goal is to plant 1 million trees by 2020.
Bottle Bright – To date, over 60,000 tablets of Bottle Bright have been delivered globally in the fight against poor water quality and sanitation.
Bombas – In just two and half years, Bombas met their initial goal of donating 1 million pairs of socks! They are raising the bar for socially-conscious companies.
Good Spread – Through a partnership with MANA Nutrition, Good Spread has supported the distribution of more than 33,000 packets of Ready-to-use Therapeutic Food (RUFT), which provide treatment for children with severe acute malnutrition. Malnutrition is the leading cause of death in children worldwide.
Kammok – Through 1% for the Planet, Kammok supports two 20-member teams of mentors and youths (explorers) for an entire year.
Ivory Ella – To date, Ivory Ella has donated more than $600,000 to Save the Elephants, a Kenya-based research conservation organization. The money from Ivory Ella has helped build a fence around a school in Kenya to restrict human-elephant contact, provide education, deter poachers, and track elephants in nearby areas.
The Elephant Pants – As of Spring 2017, The Elephant Pants has donated over $130,000 to charitable organizations dedicated to making the world a better place for elephants.
Knowing these businesses are doing their part to make this world a little bit better means I can feel good buying from them. Thank you Purpose Over Profit!
